About Us

I started my roasting journey 20 years ago when a good friend invited me to his house to roast coffee. I had no idea that you could roast coffee in a house, or even what unroasted coffee looked like. Intrigued, I showed up and was blown away with the process and final product. I never tasted coffee so good, and it turns out I had been drinking coffee from stale beans my whole life.

I was determined to duplicate that experience for myself, so I went through many methods: popcorn popper, tray in an oven, perforated pan on a charcoal grill, and drum roaster. I shared the fruit of my labor with people at my work, and turned my entire department from stale coffee drones to shining new fresh coffee snobs, essentially ruining them for any of the hot brown dishwater that would previously pass for coffee in their lives. One of them even purchased large amounts of coffee from me to use as party favors for his wedding. The seed of Wildcup was planted.
